SCM students visit Areva Plant

In order to gain practical insights into industrial management, a team of MBA students, led by SCM Centre Manager Kirti Agrawal and Assistant Professor Raghavesh visited Areva T&D India, Naini plant on Tuesday.
A detailed presentation was given to the future managers by Er. Devesh Tripathi about design, functions, and manufacturing of heavy duty transformers. Later, the team was taken to the core cutting, winding and assembly shops and given valuable information on production planning, materials management and testing of transformers. Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi, administration incharge informed about Human resource management, welfare, safety and training initiatives of Areva. An interactive session saw very enthusiastic participation by students.
Director Prof. Jagdish Khatri extended heartfelt thanks for the cooperation given by Areva officers and management in this industrial visit.

Creativity Unleashed at SCM

“Future belongs to the creative and innovative minds that will have the power to shape the destiny of our planet.” Anand Agarwal, Chairman SCM made these points at the prize distribution ceremony of three-day event “Srijan-2011- Celebrating Creativity” at Sanskaar College of Management on Saturday.
The different categories of contests were: Collage-making, Poster-making, Rangoli; Admad, Power Point presentation and Management Quiz. The overall event was coordinated by SCM faculty members Sanjeev Agarwal & Jayshree Nandi; while Kirti Agrawal, Dr. VP Singh, Vivek Srivastava, Raghvesh, Adeeba Irfan and Pooja Gupta also acted as coordinators for individual events. Sanjeev Agarwal was adjudged as the best event coordinator.
On this occasion, Kirti Agarwal, Centre Manager was given special recognition for her successful visit to USA as Rotary GSE Team member.
Neeraj Agarwal, Academic Head gave tips to students for developing presentation skills. Dipti Agarwal, chief coordinator congratulated faculty & students of SCM for organizing a grand show. Prof. Jagdish Khatri urged the students to become multi-skilled professionals. Centre Manager Kirti Agrawal conducted the proceedings of the prize distribution function.

"Teachers must be the Role Models"

“A teacher is most effective when he becomes a role model for his students in thoughts, skills, actions and behavior” Prof. Jagdish Khatri, Director SCM lent this advice to SCM teachers at the Teacher’s Day Celebration held on the eve of Teachers Day at SCM Campus.
Faculty members of scm were in for a very pleasant surprise when they were showered with rose petals by SCM students at entrance and garlanded profusely. Students presented several cultural programmes including songs, poems, and dances to make the function very lively.
Dipti Agrawal, Chief Co-ordinator congratulated the students for their dedicated efforts and devotion to their teachers. She also handed over presents to all the teachers & staff of SCM for their performance in imparting quality education.
Student co-ordinators for the function were Vinod Kumar, Ghanshyam, Manish Chandra, Rajesh Kumar & Kanhaiya Lal, Participants in cultural events included Dhiraj Varma, Ajay Kumar, Amar Bahadur, Pratima, Jay Prakash, Vidya Verma, Arti, Anil Saroj, Savita, Vijay Kumar, Dil Bahadur, Kamlesh Kumar, Chandan, Niraj Kumar, Kalpana Verma.
SCM Teachers also played several entertaining games. Chairman Anand Agarwal greeted faculty members and complimented them for their role in building high standards of SCM.

Faculty Development Programme
SCM Faculty Learns the Power of Trust
|
"Trust is the foundation of all positive relationships. Hence, everyone should acquire a trusting attitude, and also strive to become trustworthy." This was the central message that emancipated from a highly interactive workshop on "The Power of Trust" conducted by Prof. Jagdish Khatri, Director SCM, as part of SCM faculty development programme.
Prof. Khatri explained the characteristics of trust that make it so special for achieving success as well as happiness in life. He emphasized on developing ‘smart trust’ rather than 'distrust' or 'blind trust'.
Participants of the Workshop actively participated in the search for essential ingredients of trust. Kirti Agarwal highlighted the role of belief in self as the prime motivator for trusting others. She also linked trust with the degree of loyalty and mutual expectations.
Dr. VP Singh suggested unconditional love as the basis for trust. Vivek Srivastava, Sushmita Jha, Pooja Gupta, & Krishna Mani Tiwari also participated quoting their experiences.

“An attitude of gratitude would take you to success in life”. These were the final words of advice given to passing out students by Director SCM Prof. Jagdish Khatri, at an emotion-filled farewell function “Smriti” organized at Sanskaar College of Management on Sunday. In a special event choreographed by Centre Manager Kirti Agarwal, students and faculty members had a ramp walk at Fashion Show. The event coordinated by faculty members Sanjeev Agarwal & Sushmita Jha reflected the extraordinary talent of second semester students in the form of songs by Ajay, Ghanshyam, Jaiprakash, Lakshman and Prasad; and dance performances by Gautam Kohli, Prem Chandra, Priyanka and Pratima. Sadashiv, Satishankar, Lakshman & Prasad with the guidance of Pooja Gupta decorated the Conference room with ‘sky’ as the theme.Babita proposed vote of thanks. All faculty members participated in the event to make it a success.
Chief guest Mrs. Amrita Agarwal, Principal SIS congratulated SCM students for their spirited performances and zeal to excel. Neeraj Agarwal, Academic Head emphasized on hard work in preparations with acquisition of knowledge. Chief Coordinator SCM Dipti Agarwal announced special awrds for outgoing students with Shruti Agarwal bagging award for academics, Dileep Kumar for attendance and Anjani Mishra for all-round performance.
Final year students expressed their gratitude to the College for providing them excellent education and personality development opportunities. They also felt overwhelmed by the affection and respect showered on them by their juniors.

| 'Equality, not Sympathy' urge SCM women |

“Women do not need Sympathy but Equality, in terms of status, honor and opportunities”, these sentiments were expressed by Kirti Agrawal, Centre Manager, Sanskaar College of Management on the occasion of Women’s Day Celebration. She urged the society to save girl child and to promote women education.
SCM felicitated its female faculty, staff and students with flowers and gifts. Students of MBA made presentations on ten different women icons in different fields. Sanjeev Agrawal, Asstt. Professor conducted the event.
Director SCM, Prof. Jagdish Khatri appealed for economic independence of the women in society and also highlighted the importance of having an identity of their own. SCM Chief Coordinator, Dipti Agarwal emphasized on SCM philosophy of giving equal opportunity to women.
All SCM faculty members including Dr.V.P.Singh, Vivek Srivastava, Raghavesh, Manu Bhatt and Rajkumar participated enthusiastically to make the event a success. Sushmita Jha, and Pooja Gupta and all female students thanked the SCM Management for celebration of women’s Day in such a grand way. |

| As a part of its social responsibility, SCM with the help of Rotary Club Allahabad, organized a Rural Health Check-up Camp at College Campus, for providing free treatment and medicines to needy patients from surrounding areas. Students and faculty members lent a helping hand to team 15 senior doctors who attended patients in this Camp. |

| In line with SCM philosophy of sticking to Indian Roots, all major festivals are celebrated in Campus with full participation of all. In this series, Holi was celebrated by applying ‘ Gulal tilak’ to all staff and students. Traditional ‘Ghujiya’ added to the Holi fervour. |

Sanskaar College of Management organized a special discourse to mark the beginning of MBA third semester classes on Tuesday. Swami Madhaavananda Ji of Cinmaya Mission, Ranchi delivered a presentation on "Strength through Spirituality" to the students & faculty members of SCM at its Campus in Sahson.
Swami Ji emphasized on being spiritual in all our thoughts and behaviour by mastering different forms of Sadhna, at physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual levels. He provided a new meaning to MBA, as Mind Body Alignment course. He also stressed on the importance of having a right attitude in life. Swami Ji appreciated the emphasis laid on ethical values at SCM.
Earlier, Chairman SCM Mr. Anand Agrawal welcomed Swami Madhava Nand and Swami Nirvan Chaitanya Ceremonial lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana was performed by distinguished guests. Director SCM Prof. Jagdish Khatri introduced the speaker, while Kirti Agrawal, Centre Manager, Sushmita Jha proposed a vote of thanks. It was an overwhelming experience for all the faculty members & staff at Sanskaar College of Management, when the students of MBA showered them with reverence on Teachers’ Day Function.
In a unique gesture, the students lined up on both sides of SCM lobby to shower flower petals on their teachers. Anjani Kumar Mishra the master of ceremony presented welcome speech, followed by a presentation on Dr. S. Radhakrishnan by Satya Prakash. Gautam rendered Saraswati Vandana, while Ravi Kant & Jai Prakash recited a Bhojpuri song in praise of the role of teachers. Sandeep Dave, Aashish, Awdhesh, Dileep, Ram Kailash, Surendra, Santawana presented a brief sketch of profiles of teachers.
Vivek Gupta, Shruti and Santawana organized fun-filled games involving teachers & students. Team led by centre manager Kirti Agarwal won the Antakshari round, while Biju Nateshan was the winner in passing the parcel game. First year students including Aarti, Priyanka, Jai Prakash presented a comic skit. Vinod Kumar gave a speech on importance of teachers. Radhika Prasad proposed a vote of thanks.
Chief Coordinator Dipti Agarwal appreciated the efforts of the team of teachers in imparting knowledge & values to SCM students. Director SCM Prof. Jagdish Khatri highlighted the significance of obedience and blessings in mastering the unknown “Factor-X” for achieving success in any endeavour.

Sanskaar Students attend Three-day Youth Camp A unique three-day Youth Camp was organised by Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (CHYK), Allahabad from 29th to 31st October 2010 at Chinmaya Mission Campus on the theme of “How to win in life”. The event was conducted by Swami Chidrupananada Ji, Northern Rgional Head of CHYK.
All the students & faculty members of Sanskaar Group of institutions, namely Sanskaar College of Management (SCM) and Sanskaar Internatinal School (SIS) took part in this event for all three days, enriching their personality. The Camp was inaugurated by Swami Subodhananada Ji in presence of distinguished gathering of citizens. He emphasised on developing competence & serving duties faithfully to attract success in life. Mr. Anand Agarwal, Secretary Chinmaya Mission highlighted the role of Mission in enlightening youth.
The Camp included several lecture, video and practical sessions covering different aspects. Swami Chidrupananada Ji emphasised on character building and living in present. Neeraj Agarwal, event co-ordinator for CHYK, trained students on effective experiential learning techniques. Amrita Agarwal, Principal SIS conducted several group exercises. Prof. Jagdish Khatri, Director SCM took one session on creativity development and conducted creative games. Special invitees from CHYK, Noida Mr. Balaji and Mr. Gautam also conducted several events on teambuilding and positive thinking.
On the last day of Camp, all participants were taken to the historic shrines at Kaushambi. Students were thrilled to take part in trekking and other sports activities at Kaushambi, learning teamwork. All faculty & staff members of SCM, namely Kirti Agarwal, VP Singh, Vivek Srivastava, Sushmita Jha, Sanjeev Agarwal, Raghavesh, Pooja Gupta, Leena Masood, Raj Kumar took active part in organizing the Camp activities.

| Celebrate Diwali with Colorful Rangoli |

It was a celebration of creativity, full of colors & imagination, for the MBA students of Sanskaar College of Management on the eve of Deepawali. Rangoli competition was organized in SCM campus. Centre Manager Kirti Agrawal & Faculty Manu Bhatt were the judges for the event. Four teams of students took active part and won the hearts of judges with their innovative designs.
Earlier a special session was held to mark Deepawali festival. Students made informative presentations on various aspects of Deepawali. The event was coordinated by Sushmita Jha, Pooja Gupta & Leena Massod.
Centre Manager Kirti Agrawal urged the students to play a safer Deepawali. She also told the students about the importance of festivals in our life. Prof. Jagdish Khatri emphasized on enrichment of heart & soul.

“If the creativity shown by SCM students in various events is an indication, India is definitely poised to acquire a global superpower status”, expressed Mr. Ramesh Ojha, GM(HR), Areva T&D Ltd. Speaking as chief guest at a function organized at Sanskaar College of Management.
To mark the celebration of Childrens’ Day, SCM organized a special Function wherein Kirti Agrawal,Centre Manger SCM gave a presentation on the importance of Childrens’ day and presented UN Rights of Child. This was followed by an event aptly titled “Srijan-2010” which comprised of five competitions in Collage-making, Poster-making, rangoli, Admad, and Management Quiz. Sushmita Jha SCM Faculty acted as the Event manager of Srijan-2010 in which a very large number of MBA students took part in all the events enthusiastically and showcased their talent.
Chairman SCM Mr. Anand Agarwal congratulated the students and reiterated the commitment of SCM Management to work for overall development of students. Mr. Neeraj Agarwal, academic head emphasised on the importance of hard work for success in life. Director SCM Prof. Jagdish Khatri presented an overview of activities undertaken at SCM.

| SCM Students Visit Bhola Group of Industries |

Sanskaar College of Management organized an industrial visit of its MBA students to Bhola Group of Industries to know the various functioning of the cold storage located in Sahson on Wednesday.
Manager Mr. B.D.Pant took the students for the round of the whole area and explained the students about technical and commercial aspects of the enterprise. He also apprised them about the initiatives taken by Bhola Group towards its social responsibility. Students were filled with enthusiasm and showed keen interest.
SCM team was led by Vivek Srivastava, V.P.Singh, Sanjeev Agrawal and Raghavesh. Earlier Centre Manager Kirti Agrawal organized the whole event and motivated the students for this visit. She also explained about the importance of having the need for practical exposure of management students. Director SCM, Prof.Jagdish Khatri expressed gratitude towards Bhola Group Management and Mr.Suresh Kesarwani for their cordial support and cooperation in imparting practical skills to SCM students.
