Research Project Workshop held for SCM Students    —    Dated : 9th  Feb  2012
A special workshop was organized at Sanskaar College of Management for imparting skills in preparation of research project report to final year MBA students. All faculty members, led by Associate Professor Dr. V.P. Singh contributed in the workshop.

Diverse aspects of research were discussed including project selection, formulation of objectives and methodology of research, contents of a good project report , literature survey, preparing questionnaires, conducting surveys, analysis of research findings, drawing conclusions, and bibliography.

Project guides gave valuable tips related to their respective streams, which included Vivek Srivastava for Finance, Sanjeev Agarwal for Marketing, Biju Natesan & Raghvesh for IT, Dr. V.P. Singh & Adeeba Irfan for HR topics. Kirti Agrawal gave tips for attractive presentation of reports.

Prof. Jagdish Khatri, Director-SCM emphasized on the importance of presentation and communication skills in corporate life.
SCM Celebrates UN Day of the Disabled    —    Dated : 3rd  Dec  2011
“Not being able to utilize one’s own abilities is the biggest disability, which every one must avoid.” This was the central message given by Prof. Jagdish Khatri, Director SCM at a special function organized to mark UN Day of Persons with Disability, at Sanskaar College of Mnagement.

On this occasion, an MBA student with disability Km. Neeta was felicitated by Centre Manager & Assistant Professor Kirti Agrawal, who also narrated examples from history and public life where extraordinary achievements have been made by persons having different kinds of disabilities.

Prof. Khatri made a detailed presentation on UN and Government of India efforts to impart dignity, rights and opportunities to the disabled. WHO guidelines on distinction between impairment, activity limitation and participation restriction were also discussed.

SCM Students Learn Mantras for Success    —    Dated : 1st  Dec  2011
Sanskaar College of Management organized an interactive workshop to impart critical skills to its students of MBA for success in academics.

In a special interactive session, titled “Mantras for success in Examinations”, Kirti Agrawal, Centre Manager & Asstt. Professor SCM, gave guidelines to students on how to score better in forthcoming GBTU examinations. She also explained examination paper pattern and taught time and space management for attempting different sections for best possible results.

Faculty members Dr. VP Singh , Vivek Srivastava, Sanjeev Agarwal and Raghvesh also gave tips to solve practical and case study questions along with dos and don’ts to be observed during examinations.

SCM Organises Social-Consciousness Seminar    —    Dated : 25th  Nov  2011
Students and faculty members of Sanskaar College of Management took pledge to work for promoting communal harmony and eliminating violence against women in a seminar on Friday. The occasion was celebration of Flag Day by National Foundation for communal harmony, and International day for the elimination of violence against women, which are celebrated on 25th November.

Prof. Jagdish Khatri highlighted the need for communal harmony for ensuring progress of nation as an economic superpower in 21st Century. He also appealed to develop a healthy mindset which has no place for discrimination on basis of race, gender, region, caste or religion.

Dipti Agarwal, chief coordinator urged women to be self-empowered to meet the challenges and to actualize their full potential. Kirti Agrawal, centre manager SCM gave an introduction of the events and conducted the proceedings.

World Tourism Day Celebrated at SCM    —    Dated : 27th  Sept  2011
On the occasion of World Tourism Day, Prof. Jagdish Khatri, Director SCM gave a detailed presentation on various aspects of tourism. He gave data on how tourism has become one of the largest sectors in terms of revenue generation and employment orientation for people of all communities in all nations. He elaborated the social impact of tourism in reducing separatism & promoting national harmony.

“SCM Celebrates Google Invention Day”    —    Dated : 27th  Sept  2011
“From Steam Engines to search engines, technology has helped mankind immensely in bringing people together and nearer.” Prof. Jagdish Khatri, Director SCM mentioned these words while summing up discussions at the end of a special event to mark the invention day of widely used Google search engine.

A presentation was made by IT Faculty member Raghavesh narrating the history of this novel invention at Stanford University during 1995 to 1999. He also highlighted how Google has been one of the most important tools in the hands of modern knowledge seeker.

SCM celebrates International Girl-Child Day    —    Dated : 25th  Sept  2011
Staff & students of Sanskaar College of Management celebrated UNICEF’s International Girl Child Day and Daughters’Day on Sunday, by organizing a special seminar on the topic “Rights of Girl Child” at SCM Campus. All female staff and students were felicitated on this occasion.

SCM Faculty members Jayshree Nandi and Adeeba Irfan made a presentation on Discrimination of Girl Child, covering broad aspects like female infanticide, foeticide, honour killings, domestic violence etc. Recommendations of UN Convention on Rights of Child were also discussed.

Highlight of the event was extempore speeches by 14 MBA students, namely Vidya, Ranjana, Savita, Rakhi, Ghanshyam, Ajay Kumar, Anil Gautam, Vijay, Santosh, Dhiraj, Lallan Prasad, Akhilesh, Sunil Saroj, and Amit Kumar; who indicated their commitment to free the society of social evils related to girl children. Sanjeev Agrawal conducted the proceedings and outlined the objectives of seminar.
Analysis of Budget & its Impact
SCM holds Workshop on 9/11 and its Lessons    —    Dated : 11th  Sept  2011
“More than being just a terrorist act against USA, the 9/11 phenomenon must be viewed in the larger context of clash of interests between the fundamentalist forces and all forms of modernism & globalization.” Prof. Jagdish Khatri, Director SCM presented this view in his keynote address delivered at a Workshop on “A Decade after 9/11 – Lessons Learnt”, organized at Sanskaar College of Management on Sunday.

This Workshop was organized as a tribute to the innocent victims of terrorism, in order to sensitize MBA students to the global challenges. Jayshree Nandi, SCM faculty member conducted the proceedings. Faculty member Adeeba Irfan outlined the objectives of Workshop, and gave a picture of psyche that does not support terror as a means to resolve disputes.

Informative presentations were made by MBA students Vinod Kumar, Pramod Kumar, Ghanshyam, Manish Chandra, Rajesh Kumar & Kanhaiya Lal on the 9/11 event, the human losses and the economic impact.

Workshop on “Success in Examinations
Realizing the urgent need for uplifting the confidence level of students for success in academic performance, a detailed workshop was organized for MBA students of Sanskaar College of Management (SCM), conducted jointly by all the faculty members of SCM. Centre Manager, Kirti Agarwal started the workshop by explaining the importance of proper Time and Space Management during the examination. She also gave practical tips on proper sequence of answering questions and how to attempt objective-type questions. Sushmita Jha listed the precautions to be taken and gave details of UPTU disciplinary procedures. Sanjeev Agrawal gave tips on handling case study. Dr. V.P.Singh presented various psychological aspects of students during examination. Practical questions on Accounting were handled by Vivek Srivastava. Leena Masood & Raghavesh answered queries on long questions and use of diagrams.
Research Report Writing Workshop
The workshop was organized for MBA 4th Sem. students to provide them information and details about the research report. Centre Manager and all the faculty members gave useful tips on how to prepare a good research report and the necessary precautions that are to be taken while preparing the same.
Effective Introduction Techniques
In order to improve communication and presentation skills as well as for developing self confidence in interview, a special workshop was conducted by Kirti Agrawal, Centre Manager SCM on Effective Introduction Techniques.
Career Aptitude Workshop at SCM
“Don’t just aim for a job, plan for a career.” This was the advice given by Prof. Jagdish Khatri, Director, Sanskaar College of Management, while conducting a workshop on exploration of career aptitude for MBA students. He gave an overview of the career opportunity in different sectors of economy, covering 42 sectors. Kirti Agrawal, Centre Manager, SCM outlined various functional areas, which a student can choose for performance, suiting own skills and preferences. She also outlined necessary attributes for success.
